Why does Glynce differ from my CGM or meter?

Updated June 16, 2026

Small differences between Glynce and your CGM app or a finger stick are normal. A few things explain them.

  • Timing and the cloud. With LibreLinkUp and Dexcom, your readings pass through the manufacturer's cloud, so they can appear a few minutes later in Glynce than in your own CGM app.
  • Rounding and units. A value in mmol/L converted to mg/dL, or the other way around, can round slightly differently.
  • Source and method. A CGM measures glucose in tissue fluid and lags a little behind a finger stick. That is not an error, it is simply two different measurements.

What matters most is following one source consistently over time, rather than comparing two sources at a single moment.

For treatment decisions, rely on the source your care team points to, not on a comparison between apps.
